SANDAKAN: The Human Resources Ministry, through the Manpower Department’s Industrial Training Institute, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Daikin Malaysia Sdn Bhd to assist technical and vocational education and training (TVET) students to build careers by fulfilling industry needs.
Its deputy minister, Mustapha Sakmud said the collaboration would involve 10 industrial training institutes and advanced technology training centres (ADTEC) in the country with the opening of Daikin Academies to implement the Air-Conditioner Certified Technician (ACCT) programme.
“The MoU is to answer Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s calls to ensure that TVET institutes collaborate and work together with the industry as we don’t want courses that don’t fulfil industry needs,” he told reporters after officiating the Daikin Academy in the Sandakan industrial training institute near here today.
In addition to the Sandakan institute, five other training institutes, located in Kuala Lumpur, Kepala Batas, Ipoh, Kota Bharu and Kota Samarahan as well as four ADTECs in Shah Alam, Melaka, Batu Pahat and Kemaman, are involved in the partnership. – Bernama
