Parti Warisan Wirawati Deputy Chief, Jo-Anna Sue Henley Rampas said it appears that GRS has given rise to a breed of political chameleons who shift their positions according to the current situation that best suit their interest.
Before GE-15, the group led by Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor was in Bersatu.
They even declared Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as their candidate of choice for the Premiership just days before Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was announced as the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Most recently, Sabah Bersatu collapsed after Hajiji and other leaders quit the party
en masse.
Sabah Bersatu currently has four MPs, who contested under the GRS ticket.
Their decision to leave Bersatu raised the question if this would trigger by-elections in their constituencies, under Malaysia’s anti-hopping law that took effect on October 5.
Soon after the quit announcement, GRS swiftly pledged their support to Anwar and his unity government in a desperate attempt to save itself from becoming an opposition.
“I therefore find the statement by the political secretary to the Chief Minister, Ceasar Mandela Malakun as baseless,” Jo-Anna said in a statement released here today.
“He cannot deny that GRS is a destabilising factor in Sabah’s politics because it is their flip flopping act that is undermining political stability.
“If GRS is really a responsible government, they should set good examples. Be firm with their stand and principles. Stop being chameleons,” she emphasized.
